Koovapady Gram Panchayat has become a panchayat with remarkable achievements at the state level through public participation, transparent governance, sanitation activities, environmental protection and effective implementation of employment schemes. The various awards and honors received by the panchayat for the comprehensive development of the village and the innovative activities and popular interventions. These achievements reflect the panchayat's commitment to development and sense of responsibility towards the people.
Koovapady Grama Panchayat has bagged the second position as the best performing Grama Panchayat as part of the project “Malinyamukta Navakerala 2024-25”. This recognition was given for the excellence achieved by the panchayat in sanitation activities, waste management system, plastic free activities and public awareness. This award has become a great motivation for the panchayat's long-term efforts to create a clean and healthy village environment.
The activities of Harithkarma Sena, which have done excellent work in the field of waste disposal, have also been recognized at the state level.Achieving the second position as the best Haritakarmasena Consortium in the “Pillution-Free New Kerala 2024-25” project is a great recognition for the Panchayat's environmental protection activities. The basis for this achievement was the sincere service rendered by the Harit Karmasena in collection of waste from homes and institutions, scientific treatment and coordination with the people.
The panchayat has also achieved remarkable achievements in effective implementation of employment guarantee schemes. Another major accolade in the field of rural development is its second position as the best performing panchayat under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) 2022-23. This achievement is proof of the effective implementation of the scheme in terms of creating employment opportunities and ensuring economic security of the rural people.
Along with this, Koovapady Gram Panchayat was again recognized as the best performing panchayat under MGNREGA 2023-24. The Panchayat's specialty is that it has efficiently implemented public benefit development activities through employment guarantee schemes and raised the standard of living of the rural people. These awards are a reflection of the active approach taken by the panchayat in public welfare activities and proper governance system.
